The School of Irish Archaeology

Just a quick heads up about a new heritage business set up by another recently unemployed archaeologist. Mark Kelly, a man who has spent the last ten years working on archaeological sites throughout the country, has just founded The School of Irish Archaeology. This new company’s goal is to bring archaeology

into the classroom through fun and engaging activities. This is achieved through a series of presentations, hands on practical experience and archaeological tours. The school prides itself in its ‘dynamic approach where we encourage the students to participate, engage and develop their skills and thoughts through archaeology in an informed and critical manner’.

In these extremely difficult times for Irish archaeology its great see someone getting out there trying something new.  I think bringing archaeology into the class room is great idea and hopefully Mark and Co. can inspire a whole new generation of Indiana Joneses.
